    CBAM Compliance

    The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism Definitive Regime began on 1 January 2026. Importers of steel, aluminium, cement, fertiliser, hydrogen and electricity must surrender certificates for embedded emissions.

    Who does Border Ledger work with?
    We work with engineering and manufacturing exporters importing CBAM goods (steel, aluminium, cement, fertiliser, hydrogen, electricity), and with agri-food operators subject to the 6th Nitrates Action Programme. Clients are based across the island of Ireland, North and South.

    Do you handle filings or only advice?
    Both. We provide written exposure assessments, prepare and submit quarterly CBAM declarations, manage Nitrates Derogation applications, and act as Local Authority liaison where required.
    Are you regulated?
    Border Ledger operates as a private compliance advisory. We are not solicitors and do not provide legal advice. Our work is informed by published DAFM, EPA, Revenue, European Commission, Teagasc and Bord Bia guidance.
    How are fees structured?
    Each engagement is scoped from the Border Risk Audit and quoted as a fixed fee or annual retainer depending on filing volume and complexity. Pricing is disclosed before any work begins.
